Grateful To Be Home - PET Scan Tomorrow

I am so grateful to be home - with Kathy, Ali, our two Portuguese Water Dogs and all of our family and friends who grace our home on a daily basis.

Each day, I have become more fully aware of how close I came to dying in the ICU. I am ever more grateful to the Lord for his tender mercies and to my medical team at Huntsman / U of U who saved my life. I am recuperating at home. Kathy is my loving and proactive caregiver.

Tomorrow is the big PET scan. It will detemine whether or not my new immune system (borrowed from my sister Vicki) has eliminated the lymphoma. We have great faith that the PET scan will be clean. Thanks for your faith, fasting, prayers and support.

I think some of the strongest people we will never really get to meet... only hear about. I recently noticed a friend's facebook (Kara's) and noticed that her dad, has gone through more than I could ever imagine.. It was clear to me he walks by faith, firm in testimony, and without distraction. His family just continues to progess during these hard times.
This reminded me that we are only given trials we can handle, but sometimes we lack the faith. During hard times, some feel like giving up... Then we pray for an answer and hear stories of amazing people like you. These stories inspire me and make us all want to try harder.
You are amazing. The only person I really got to know in your family was your daughter Kara in High School. A great person, caring, loving, and fun. Through her I saw that she had to be raised by strong amazing parents. I pray for your family. I want you to know I never could have made it through high school without examples like Kara. Thank you for being a leader and making a difference to even some you may never really meet... There are times we all need footsteps to follow. Stay strong!!!
